Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Voice Translator is published by Alovate, a company organized under the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “Alovate” mean Alovate. You can reach us at support@alovate.ai.

2. Data we collect

• Account email — to create and secure your account.
• Authentication identifier — an opaque user ID issued by our auth provider.
• In-app purchase receipts — to validate and restore your subscription.
• Audio recordings — short recordings you make in the app, sent to our speech-to-text and AI translation providers.
• Translated text history — what you translated and when, so you can return to it.
• Photos for scan-translate — pictures you take or upload to translate menus, signs, or documents.
• Device information for crash reports — device model, OS version, and app version, used to diagnose crashes.

3. Why we use it

• Account email & auth ID — sign-in, account recovery, security.
• IAP receipts — entitlement checks, restore-purchases, refunds.
• Audio recordings — sent to our speech-to-text and AI translation providers to convert speech to text, translate, and (for playback) synthesize voice.
• Translated text history — so the app can show your past translations and re-play them.
• Photos for scan-translate — sent to our AI provider for OCR and translation of the text in the image.
• Device info — debugging crashes and improving stability. Not used for advertising.

4. Third-party processors

We rely on the processors below. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

• Supabase — authentication, database, and storage for your account, translation history, and uploads. Privacy policy.
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase and entitlement management. Privacy policy.
• OpenAI (or an equivalent provider) — speech-to-text, translation, and text-to-speech of your audio and text content. Privacy policy.
• Apple — App Store distribution, sign in, in-app purchases. Privacy policy.
• Google — Google Play distribution and billing on Android. Privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Retention & account deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app:

Settings → Delete Account

This calls the server RPC delete_my_account which cascades all rows owned by your user, including your translation history, audio uploads, and scan-translate photos. IAP receipts retained by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat for tax/audit reasons are kept by those processors per their policies. Backups may retain residual copies for up to 30 days before being overwritten.

6. Children

Voice Translator is rated 4+ on the App Store and Everyone on Google Play. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact support@alovate.ai and we will delete it.

7. International transfers

Alovate is based in the United States. Your data may be processed in the United States by our infrastructure (Supabase) and our AI providers (OpenAI or equivalent), and in other regions where Apple and Google operate. By using Voice Translator you understand that data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

8. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@alovate.ai. Where applicable (e.g. GDPR, CCPA) you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on Supabase infrastructure that is access controlled. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry-standard safeguards.

10. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
